My yoke design is called the "Shadow" because when you portage a canoe outfitted with one it rides as light on your shoulders as a Summer shadow..... well..... maybe not quite..... but I can guarantee that it will make your portaging a much more pleasurable experience.
It doesn't matter whether you are well padded or bony, slim or broad shouldered this is the most comfortably designed yoke you can buy.
Shadow yokes are hand carved from select white ash or cherry or a lamination of cherry and ash.
They are finished with three hand rubbed coats of exterior oil that highlight the grain pattern and give a soft lustrous long lasting finish.
In addition the cherry and laminated yokes are buffed twice more and then polished with carnauba wax using the Beall polishing system.
Our yokes are guaranteed against breakage and we will also replace or refund any yoke that does not meet with your full approval.
